Join us to hear from Darren James, board president of Fair Park First, and Peter Zingoni, vice president of Business Development and Client Relations for Spectra Venue Management, about the vision they have for making Fair Park the premier entertainment venue of the North Texas region and State of Texas. On October 24th The City of Dallas approved, with a unanimous City Council vote, to privatize Fair Park. Operations will be handled by a group that manages public spaces like these all over the world. The group includes the non-profit Fair Park First and Spectra, a Comcast-owned food-and-entertainment company. They will operate and manage the 277-acre Fair Park complex. It is a decision that the Mayor and City Council hope will bring new life to the historic venue. Spectra will bring decades of international venue management experience to the aging Fair Park including experience with managing 22 different fairgrounds and agricultural centers nationwide. Additionally, Spectra has over 319 properties, which host over 200,000 plus events and 40-million plus guests annually. This considerable portfolio will establish the basis for implementing and executing a new vision for Fair Park. |
