Steven Duong, AICP, Project Lead, AECOM

Hyperloop technology is a new way to move people or things anywhere in the world quickly, safely, efficiently, on-demand and with minimal impact to the environment.

Hear from Steven Duong, Project Lead with AECOM, who is leading a team of planners on the Hyperloop One Global Challenge, a first-of-its-kind competition, that includes 10 teams in locations around the world charged with developing and constructing the world’s first Hyperloop network. Texas is uniquely positioned to be selected for the location of the world’s very first Hyperloop system – a system that includes a proposed 640-mile Texas Triangle system connecting five of the largest cities and over 18 million people. This is a great opportunity to look at new and innovative ways to meet the transportation challenges of the future. Learn more about how Hyperloop has the potential to change how we think about transportation forever.

Steven Duong, AICP, is an urban designer with AECOM for the firm’s Design + Planning practice in Texas. He has led a wide variety of projects, most recently serving as the lead consultant supporting the City of Dallas 100 Resilient Cities plan and the Texas Hyperloop proposal. His focus is on urban resilience, smart cities and master planning. Steven also serves as the Director of the North Central Texas Chapter of the American Planning Association and as a professor with UTA College of Planning and Landscape Architecture. He was identified as a Top 20 Under 40 Top Young Professional for Engineering News Record in 2017.
