“Sprawl.” This charged term describes the majority of our built environment and fuels debate over the long term societal implications of its development pattern. But what exactly is Sprawl? While typical answers describe such effects such as congestion and anonymous places, they often fail to identify it as the most efficient real estate delivery system in history and direct result of the American Dream. But with the realization that long term suburban success may be achieved through more sensible development practices, a new paradigm of community redevelopment is beginning to take shape. Join the Greater Dallas Planning Council for Breakfast on November 9 at Warwick Melrose Hotel to hear Paris Rutherford talk about Reinventing Suburbia! Venue: Warwick Melrose Hotel, 3015 Oak Lawn Ave, Dallas, TX 75219 Late Registration (after Nov. 6): $45 member / $55 non-member / $25 student Paris Rutherford is Principal of Catalyst Urban Development, a real estate development company focused on the creation of Great Places as defined through economic, place-making and social success.
