About Stephen Salin: 

Stephen (Steve) Salin, AICP, has over 36 years of experience in capital development programs advancing a wide range of projects, including light rail, streetcar and commuter rail infrastructure. Within DART's Growth & Regional Development Department, Steve is responsible for system planning, preliminary engineering and environmental review services.

He is actively involved in the American Public Transportation Association (APTA), where he serves on a number of committees, including the Policy and Planning Committee, and as co-chair of the Major Capital Investment Planning Subcommittee. He currently serves as a Transit Representative to the Transportation Research Board (TRB) of the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, DC, where he provides technical assistance on a number of research issues and panels involved with transit related projects. Mr. Salin is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, and holds a Master of Planning degree from the University of Virginia.
