Agenda
Presentation
The Greater Dallas Planning Council, in partnership with the Regional Integration of Sustainability Efforts (RISE), NCTCOG, Dallas 2030 District and UTA, is sponsoring a workshop focusing on sustainability practices and GHG programs, with a specific emphasis on climate action planning.
The workshop format is intended to facilitate an exchange of information between the private and public sector. Representatives of some of the major corporations in the region will share their programs, policies, and actions they are implementing internally that cities or other local governments can adopt or implement to support and accelerate business-related sustainability programs.
Workshop Purpose:
- Transfer technology and programs.
- Establish connections for cooperative actions between cities and the business community.
- Identify local policies that can accelerate business-related sustainability programs.
Some of the questions that will be addressed include the following:
- Which policies and programs are being adopted by the private sector that could be utilized by the public sector?
- What do environmental leaders representing businesses see as the greatest opportunities and risks for the region’s environment?
- Which industry-specific evolving technologies will impact our future environment?
- Which public policies might be impeding private sector efforts to encourage the development of more sustainable design?
- What immediate steps should cities be taking to address these issues?
