City of Dallas Tax Increment Fund (TIF):

An Effective Approach to Economic Development

Declining demand for retail space has many cities in the greater Dallas area (and across the country) grappling with dead or dying malls. The City of Dallas is no exception. Over the past decade, Dallas has taken a proactive and progressive approach to dealing with Valley View Center mall in north Dallas and Red Bird (formerly Southwest Center) mall in southern Dallas.

Join us and hear about these two dynamic projects from Kevin Spath, Assistant Director with the City of Dallas Office of Economic Development and Peter Brodsky, majority owner and developer of the Reimagine RedBird project.  Mr. Spath will discuss the City’s economic development programs/toolbox and how several tools are being deployed to help facilitate the revitalization and redevelopment of the two dead mall areas.  Mr. Brodsky will discuss the details of the Reimagine RedBird project located in southern Dallas.
